Hot Caramel

Want to an treat yourself or someone you love to a warm indulgence?

Try a Hot Caramel!

A change to the typical hot chocolate and simple to make as well.

If you have kids around this is a great kitchen activity.
Have the kids, grand kids, nieces or nephews help you unwrap the caramels, then place them and the milk into the pot and if old enough, help stir.

Next thing you know you are wrapping your hands around a warm mug of caramel goodness!!

Enjoy!!

Hot Caramel

2 cups of milk (I use 1%)
5.5 ounce bag of chewy caramels

Unwrap the caramels and throw them into your pot. Pour in the milk.
Cook over medium high heat, stirring often. As you near then end, reduce heat to medium low, do not bring to a boil. Depending on the type of caramels used this should take about 4-5 minutes.

Variations: If you love vanilla, you could also add in a few drops.
You could also add a dollop of whipped cream...but you really don't need it.
I just like the smooth, creamy caramel taste!!
